The Weeks End. Or is it?

March 22, 2008, 1:01 am

I couldn’t imagine having a 9-5- I can’t fathom a life of mediocrity, the mundane over and over again. To be fair some would call that consistency, or security. Those two values are just beyond me. I always need some wind in my hair, my cock on the chopping block and my fingers in media projects. I now love writing and cooking, and am trying poetry, and going to a jam night on Mondays and pounding on the drums.

I am not knocking those who do value those things and I could see wanting that later in life, but right now I feel like I have to roll the dice, I have to cross against the light, and sometimes you have to kick the pig and go after it with all you got.

So at this weeks end I am preparing a very important proposal, and I have that feeling like this is going to be life changing for me. We are in an excellent position, wish me luck.

Here is a picture of a puddle and reflection of power lines…Dunno why I am on a power line kick but enjoy. Power lines brings happiness to millions. I find them interesting, just like bikes, and anything shiney

3 Chairs and 3 Thoughts

March 20, 2008, 12:56 pm

3 Chairs

1. Keep Ya Head Up- Nothing is permanent except death…and taxes if you don’t have good accountants.

2. I set a new personal goal to try and always act from my highest sense of conscience and morality.

3. Chivalry is not dead, but it’s got low self esteem.

Self-Centered? Or Centered-Self?

March 12, 2008, 2:48 pm

It’s the age old question? Am I an asshole? I watched “About A Boy” twice this weekend, yes it’s the Hugh Grant chick flick with the weird kid and his mum who sing Roberta Flacks “Killing me Softly” together like an English Ike and Tina… Sunny and Cher is probably a better comparison.

To fill this post full of movie cliches’, I had a “Jerry Mcguire” moment, I had been told 3 times recently that I was in one way or another self centered.

Well Duh, I have a website named after me with a big ass picture of my face on it…(of course I didn’t design this site, Will Barnett did, and perhaps his love for me made him use that picture out of the thousands he had to choose from but I digress…)

After feeling bad for a few moments I determined that there is seasons where we all must be self-centered and have a centered-self in order to achieve the great things in our lives we are pursuing.

To be totally committed to any goal is to sacrifice time with friends and family, to put that goal and yourself before other things for a season is a good thing for the heart and soul and great for your character.

Achieving a goal is empowering and will allow you to be a better friend and family member because you will have been through such an experience.

Gangster Poetry Session: The Truth is…

March 11, 2008, 8:36 am

that sometimes the truth is scary-

sometimes it hurts

sometimes it’s ugly, nasty and terrible

it can ruin families, destroy relationships

it can completely change how you see someone or how someone sees you

But the truth is that is only when you’re living a lie

When living in the Truth moment by moment

there’s nothing to hide

no stories to remember

no receipts to destroy

no hurt looks

no lost love

just truth, but really what the truth is…i’ll never tell.

Color and Perspective

I love this collage, thank you to my great friend and photographic mentor Doug Sanford for helping me edit and put together these photos.

I have many new experiences and perspectives to share since taking time off and can’t wait until my self-imposed rest is over on Monday!
